Patrick S. Fragel is an accomplished criminal defense attorney with over 25 years of legal experience under his belt. He is also a United States Army veteran and former prosecutor. At his firm, Patrick S. Fragel, Attorney at Law, P.C., he assists clients throughout the state of Michigan charged with serious crimes. Attorney Fragel has been recognized as a leading defense attorney in the state and has an impressive history of achieving favorable results for his clients, including numerous acquittals and “not guilty” verdicts.
Attorney Fragel attended Michigan State University, where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts. He then enlisted in the U.S. Army, Infantry and graduated from Officer Candidate School before spending three years in Frankfort, Germany. He ultimately achieved the rank of Captain before deciding to pursue a career in law.
Attorney Fragel attended Thomas Cooley Law School. There, he was selected by the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Association of Michigan (PAAM) to serve as an intern in Delta County (Escanaba) as a second-year law student. During this time, Attorney Fragel honed his trial skills under the Michigan Court Rule allowing limited practice for law students. He served as lead counsel in several jury trials involving misdemeanor OWI, assault, and juvenile crimes matters.
Upon passing the Michigan State Bar and being admitted to practice law in the state, Attorney Fragel became a full-time assistant prosecutor before ultimately entering private practice. His experience prosecuting both misdemeanor and felony crimes makes him uniquely equipped to handle complex criminal defense cases. Now, based in Traverse City, Attorney Fragel has handled thousands of criminal cases over the past 25+ years, providing honest legal counsel and aggressive advocacy for those accused of serious criminal offenses. He is a member of the National College for OWI Defense.
When he is not working, Attorney Fragel enjoys staying in shape. An avid runner, he participated in the Marquette Half-Marathon and the Cherry Festival 5k and enjoys weightlifting as a way to maintain physical stamina and stay sharp.
